What your child gains

The change shows up at home first.

Beyond kicks and forms, students build discipline, focus, confidence, and respect. Parents most often tell us the biggest changes show up at home and in school — better listening, more self-control, and real self-assurance.

  1. Discipline that lasts

Respect, focus, and self-control that carry over into school, home, and everything beyond the mat.

  2. Real confidence

A clear routine and small, achievable goals bring shy kids out of their shell — progress measured belt by belt, at their own pace.

  3. Focus and listening

Bowing in, waiting your turn, listening for the whistle — habits taught the same way from day one.

  4. Perseverance

Every class ties back to a visible next step, so children learn to set goals and keep going when it gets hard.

  5. Fitness and coordination

Balance, agility, and motor control for the youngest, real athletic conditioning as they grow.

  6. Leadership

Committed students learn to guide others, not just themselves — and carry that discipline into the rest of their week.

Programs

A program for every stage.

A structured curriculum designed for each developmental stage — from first steps to national podium.

Where confidence starts

Little Tigers

Ages 3–6

Play-based, age-appropriate Taekwondo that turns boundless toddler energy into focus and coordination — building the motor skills, listening habits, and self-assurance that set them up for school and life.

What they gain

  • Better balance, coordination, and motor control
  • Listening skills and following instructions
  • Early confidence in a group setting

In class

  1. Warm-up games
  2. Basic stances, blocks, and beginner kicks
  3. Balance and coordination drills
  4. Cool-down and high-fives

All three programs run at every branch. Competition training is always optional.

The Grit & Glory difference

No shortcuts. No handed-out belts.

Grit & Glory was founded by two former members of the Philippine National Taekwondo Team with one mission: raise disciplined, confident kids the right way.

  1. No-shortcut belt system

Every belt is earned through genuine effort and real skill. We never rush promotions, because confidence built on a shortcut doesn't last.

  2. National-caliber coaching

Led by former national team athletes who have produced national competitors and college scholarship holders — your child learns from people who've done it.

  3. Discipline that transfers

Respect, focus, and self-control don't stay on the mat. Parents consistently tell us the change shows up at home and in school first.

  4. Family-first community

More than a dojang — a family. Parents are partners in the journey from white belt to black belt, and are always welcome to watch.

Every belt requires its own grading.

Gradings usually happen every 2–3 months, but never on fixed calendar dates — a coach puts a student forward only when they're genuinely ready. A fast learner moves quicker, but still earns every single belt on the way.

Questions

Everything parents ask before the first class.

Honest answers from coaches who've trained hundreds of kids.

Still have a question? We're happy to help.

What age can my child start?

From age 3 in our Little Tigers program. If your child can follow a simple direction and separate from you for a short class, they're ready to try. Each age group — 3–6, 7–12, and 13 and up — has its own curriculum.

Is Taekwondo safe for young children?

Yes. Our instructors teach age-appropriate techniques with proper safety protocols, and we emphasize discipline and control from day one. Sparring for younger students is controlled and supervised, building real skill without unnecessary contact.

My child is shy. Will they cope?

Many parents tell us it's the opposite of what they expected. A structured class with a clear routine and small, achievable goals tends to bring shy kids out of their shell — progress is measured belt by belt, at their own pace, with no pressure to perform in front of a crowd.

What about a high-energy child?

Taekwondo gives high-energy kids a structured outlet and a clear set of rules to focus that energy — respect the mat, listen for the whistle, wait your turn. Coaches are trained to redirect rather than punish.

Do I need to buy equipment?

Not to start. For the free trial, wear jogging pants and a white t-shirt, and bring water. Once your child enrolls, your branch coach will tell you which uniform (dobok) to get.

Can I watch my child's classes?

Yes — parents, siblings, and guardians are always welcome to watch from the parent seating area, not just during the trial.

Is there any commitment after the trial?

None. Your first class is completely free with zero obligation. If your child loved it, message us or ask your coach on the spot and we'll walk you through enrolling.

How long does a black belt take?

On average 4–5 years of consistent training. We never rush promotions — every belt requires its own grading, and a coach puts a student forward only when they're genuinely ready.

Can my child compete?

Yes. We offer a competitive track for students who want to join tournaments, from local to national level. Several of our students have represented the country — but competition is always optional.

Can adults join?

Absolutely. Teens & Adults runs from age 13 with no upper limit, most adult students start as complete beginners, and parents regularly train alongside their teenagers.
