Checklist
What to Bring to Your First Taekwondo Class
A simple checklist for parents preparing their child for their first Grit & Glory class. No gear needed — just these basics.
First Class Checklist
Your child's first Taekwondo class is a trial — no equipment, no uniform required. Here's everything you need:
What to Wear
- Comfortable athletic clothing (shorts or trackpants, t-shirt)
- No shoes needed on the mat — bare feet only
- Hair tied back if long
- No jewelry, watches, or earrings during training
What to Bring
- Water bottle (labeled with your child's name)
- Small towel
- Any medical information the instructor should know (asthma inhaler, allergies)
What to Leave at Home
- ✗ Shoes (removed before stepping on the mat)
- ✗ Food (no eating during class)
- ✗ Phones and tablets (distraction-free zone for students)
For Parents
- Arrive 5–10 minutes early
- You're welcome to watch from the viewing area
- Bring questions — our coaches love talking to parents after class
After the Trial
If your child wants to enroll, our team will walk you through uniform options, schedule, and fees at the front desk. If they need another visit, that's completely fine — the trial is always free.
